We regret to announce that the annual Moegyo Burmese Food
Fair that typically falls on the second Sunday of June is postponed until further
notice.
Fortunately, with your donations, we are able to continue following support programs for 2016 - 2017 school year that are beneficial for less fortunate children in the poorest
parts of Myanmar.
a.
Provide salary for six educators and staff to educate over
two hundred Ta-Ann (Palaung) children at the school.
b.
School clinic opened and staffed with a recently certified
nurse.
c.
We are in the process of obtaining secondary school
status to be able to enroll the students who completed primary education.
a.
Provide monthly support for basic needs of children at
Kani Parahita.
b.
Continue the educational support program that provides
salary for educators who help the students taking college entry
exams. The program is highly beneficial to Kani village high school and
helped achieve the highest passing rate in the township for past two school years.
c.
Continue providing scholarships for students who passed
college entry exams and are continuing on to college. The school currently has 24
college students who are receiving Moegyo Scholarships. With help of Moegyo educational
support programs, the school so far produced a Defense Services Academy
graduate, a Police Academy graduate and four University of Distance Education
graduates.
a.
Provide monthly support for basic needs of girls at the
orphanage.
b.
Continue educational support program that provides salary
for educators who help the students taking college entry exams. With
help of Meogyo educational support program, three girls passed the college
entry exam and are continuing to go on to college.
c.
Continue providing scholarships for three college students.
a.
Provide monthly support for basic needs of children at
the nunnery.
b.
Continue educational support program that started
last year which provides salary for educators who help the students taking college entry exams.
a.
Provide monthly support for basic needs of the children
at the orphanage. Due to the orphanage being located remotely at the edge of
river with no access to roadways, the children are always in need of basic support
such as food and clothing.

- Approximately 156,000 people were affected by flood throughout the
country, particularly in Sagaing Region, and Kachin and Shan States.
- Flooding have also been reported in upper Rakhine, lower Chin and Kayin States.
- Myanmar’s Relief and Resettlement Department (RRD) reported 27 death due to the incident.
- After visiting the affected sites, on 31 July, President Thein Sein
issued a statement declaring natural disaster zones in Chin and Rakhine
States and Sagaing and Wagway Regions.
- Local authorities, ministries and departements, military and police
as well as local and International NGOs are responding to the situation
to provide assistance.
- Based on the Myanmar’s Meteorology and Hydrometeorology Department,
above normal rains are expected to happen in the next days in Bago
Region, Kachin, Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.

Saturday, August 4th 2012 was a happy day. On that summer day, Moegyo Humanitarian Foundation held the 3rd Annual Lawn Concert in Herndon, Virginia, to raise funds to support 5 orphanages and Moegyo 1 Primary School in Shan State.
There was live music by a local band and the guests enjoyed a dinner buffet complete with many authentic Burmese Cuisines, desserts and drinks. Local vendors displayed their goods for sale, and a silent auction featuring unique gifts and accessories. The event was possible with the help of supporters and volunteers who turned out to give a hand to those children in need in Myanmar. 100% proceeds from the event went towards the orphans in Myanmar.
The Moegyo Humanitarian Foundation's (MHF) 1st Annual Charity Dinner to benefit the Moegyo College Scholarship Funds for students at Kani Village Youth Development and Education Center was held in Thai Tada restaurant in Herndon, Virginia on 4 December 2010. Moegyo volunteers from Virginia and New York invited guests, friends and families to enjoy authentic Thai and Burmese cuisines, live DJ music and to participate in silent auction.
Kani Village Youth Development and Education Center is one of five orphanages that Moegyo Humanitarian Foundation has been supporting since Cyclone Nargis devastated the Delta region of Myanmar in May 2008. There were also high school students and the Moegyo Humanitarian Foundation provided them with tuition fees during their high school year. Most likely as a result of this additional support they receive, in 2010, ten students passed the high school at the Kani orphanage. Nine of them approached Moegyo that they would like to continue higher education amidst many obstacles that face them. We are committed to continue helping them to achieve brighter futures.
 On behalf of the nine young adults that will benefit from college education this year, we would like to thank you all for your support for the Charity Dinner. We are happy to share with you that Moegyo Humanitarian Foundation was able to raise $6,300 during the event and thus made it possible to support the children of Kani Village Youth Development and Education Center to be able to continue their education beyond High School. The silent auction was a successful addition for the night and with that alone, we were able to raise $1,165.00.
We would like to express our appreciation for the Myanmar Restaurant, A Taste of Burma, Market Street Bar and Grill, Personal Best, KS World Travel, Cox Communication, Noufall Hair Studio, and Liberty Tax Services for donating gift certificates for the silent auction. We'd also like to thank the Burmese community in Virginia for donating authentic Burmese food and dessert, merchandise for silent auction, and live DJ music.
Last weekend, we held a fundraising food bazaar in New York City. Objectives of this event were:
- to promote the work of Moegyo - to promote team work, strengthen the relationship among volunteers and join the efforts of all working towards a common goal i.e to help fellow Myanmar people back home - to raise fund and support the current project - working with Helping Hands Group - on providing roofs and package of goods (rice, kalah beans, mat, blanket, dan-oh/pot) to 450 households/huts (1900 people) in villages near Bogalay. Each package is estimated at $40. 
There were more than 30 Burmese home-made dishes and desserts donated by individual donors and chefs. Over 70 volunteers had joined this effort from planning, organizing, advertising, preparing delicious dishes, setting up the halls and exhibitions, helping at the booths to finally cleaning up. The success of this event is credited to the team work of all volunteers, donors and supporters (visitors). Together, we raised $8,100 and we had connected with each other for a common purpose.

Last weekend, there was a fundraising at a monastery in Maryland for Myanmar relief. MOEGYO volunteers in the DC Metro area had participated in this fare and helped promote the work of MOEGYO and raise fund with T-shirts, wrist bands, tote bags and burmese snacks. Some of us from NY also joined the effort. We sincerely appreciated our local group for their commitment and hard work especially under that heat wave. Thank you very much Ko TT, Zu Zu, Ma Pann and her mom, Richard, Ko Bo, Phowa, Ma Joe Phyu, Ko Thu Rein and everyone helping at the booth!
There will also be another fare at Aung Yadana Monastery in Maryland this Sunday. Our local group plan to be there as well.

We should start collecting donation for our people from our friends, our families and our colleagues. I started to collect the donation which will go through our friend who is working in Thailand. He will go to Myanmar personally in this week. He will take water purification tablets and some medicine with him. As we know all the water source are contaminated. One of our friends' relative are doing the restaurant business and they can do the lunch boxes or cooking at monasteries for people who need without profit by doing that service. Please let me know when you are ready. You may donate through all the links I sent in alternate way.
Our people need help desperately and we can't wait more. As far as time is running there may be more damage to our Burmese people.

Dear relatives,
As you know, after the Cyclone many have died and many are suffering in Myanmar right now with rising food prices and shortage of water.
Many of us want to help and donate but we may not know how. We have contacted friends in Bangkok, who will be going to Yangon with supplies such as water purifying tablets, medicine, etc. We will be supporting them to help distribute food and supplies. They will keep us inform of the status and their needs from Yangon. There is another friend in Yangon providing food for 100 kids who has no family or the family couldn't care for them.
As we cannot go there and help physically, we can support those who are in the field. Time is critical and many are in need. We should send money asap in any amount through all channels.
